9:15 shutdown problem

Henry reported a problem with the machines shutting down an hour earlier than scheduled (at 9:15 instead of 10:15).

This turns out to have been a problem with Apple Remote Desktop, the program we use to schedule maintenance on the computers. ARD was failing to understand daylight savings time, so tasks scheduled to run at a given time were all running an hour earlier, even though they report the correct time and even thought the time is correct on all computers involved.

I have updated the scheduled shutdown task, so it should now run as expected at 10:15. If this does not happen as expected tonight, please let me know. I can eliminate the scheduled shutdown, but that will mean having to shutdown the entire lab manually at the end of all closing shifts.

As always, remember not to save your work on the student home account. Even as you are working, save your files to the work drive. If the computer crashes or is shut down unexpectedly, files on the student home account will be lost and unrecoverable.

Thanks,
Joe
